| Press Title: | Projility Awarded 8(a) Certification from SBA | ||||
| Description: |
PROJILITY, a technology and management consulting firm, has been awarded both 8(a) and SDB status by the Small Business Administration (SBA). This accomplishment will assist PROJILITY within continuing its growth plans in the public sector. “This contract vehicle will further empower the growth of our government practice and allow us to continue offering high value, cost-effective services to our clients,” said Jose A. Marroig, president and CEO of PROJILITY, whose firm specializes in the implementation of enterprise program, portfolio management, collaboration, and business intelligence solutions for both public and private sector organizations. The government has established a number of set-asides – portions of the budget for contracted services that must be spent with firms that qualify for special treatment due to their size, ownership, or other considerations. As much as 23% of the budget is set aside specifically for companies certified as 8(a) (minorities), SDBs (Small Disadvantaged Business), HUB (Historically underutilized Business) zones, and WOB (Woman Owned Business). There are $8-10 billion dollars set aside each year just for companies with 8(a) status. Next steps for PROJILITY include the submission of a formal business plan for SBA approval and application to the Mentor-Protégé program. The certification is valid for 9 years, as long as PROJILITY continues to meet the requirements for continued certification. About Projility, Inc. About the SBA |
